Is any one aware of an utility (an execuatable for the MS-DOS) that works like the FIND command in DOS, except that it also returns error codes (to be used in batch files) corresponding to whether the string specified was encountered or not (in a specified file)? I intend to write a DOS (acually 4DOS) batch program that will prompt the user for his/her name (or SSnumber), check to see it it exists as a line in a (secure/hidden) file, and let the user use a part or whole of the programs available depending upon which secure list his or her name exists in. Any pointers to utilities in the SIMTEL20 archives, and/or other shareware sources will be much appreciated. Since this account has recently been acting flaky, I would apprciate your responding to me directly at FF76@UNTVM1.BITNET. Thanks, in advance. Jhinuk Chowdhury
