Just a quick question...I've seen much bandwidth used talking about CXL and where to get it and registration problems...obviously I missed a posting somewhere, but could someone tell me precisely what CXL is and what it can be used for... John Burton (jcburt@cs.wm.edu)

I've got a >rather old demo disk, but all it shows is text mode. CXL is a text based windowing library. It has EMS, Mouse, String, Keyboard, Video and Windowing functions along with some misc equipment type functions. It's one of the few packages that I felt good enough to register. I haven't gotten around to upgrading to the most current version (5.5). It was originally written by Mike Smedley (I think that's right) and sold to someone in Pennsylvania. I received an announcement about a month ago. I don't have any of the information about the new package other that it is supposed to be completely rewritten in asm. Carl Schelin tcs@mailer.jhuapl.edu

However, there was a package posted recently on c.b.i.p under the name TEGL which is a graphic window system. I am contemplating buying it, but I'd like to hear from people on the net on the quality of the pacakge. I am in particulary worried about the amount of memory left after TEGL has opened a couple of windows.... Please reply by mail, and I'll summarize to the net if asked to do so. --Nino -- Janet: n.margetic@uk.ac.lon.ioe \ Nino Margetic Earn/Bitnet: n.margetic%ioe.lon.ac.uk@ukacrl.bitnet \ University College Internet: n.margetic%ioe.lon.ac.uk@nsfnet-relay.ac.uk\ London, UK Uucp: ...!mcvax!ukc!educ-isis!n.margetic \(+44)(071)387-9300/x5313
