I'm trying to read Grid files produced by a package that I didn't write, so that I can create contours. I'm pretty sure the files were created by routines in MS-Fortran. When I look at them with 'list /h', it seems that there is two bytes of junk every 64 words, or at the end of a record. Does anybody know whether this is some wierdness that MicroSoft did for thier implementation of Fortran Direct Access Files. (Does MS-Fortran support FDA?) Can anybody tell me what the real format of these records is, so that I can read them in my C program? No, I don't have access to a MS-Fortran library, so I can't do my file IO in Fortran. (I'm using TurboC. I haven't used fortran in 3 years, since I expunged the last fortran routine from our GIS product, by rewriting it in C) -- Paul Tomblin, Department of Redundancy Department. !
