[comp.os.msdos.programmer] Turbo C++ and disappearing mice

bbs00068@uafcseg.uucp (Joel Kolstad) (01/12/91)

Hi. At work, we having an AST PC clone running 4DOS and Turbo C++ 1.00.
There's a PC Mouse III hooked up to the system.

Whenever we start TC++, the mouse works fine like it's supposed to. However, if

When we first start TC, the mouse works fine (it's installed by a DEVICE=..
far easlier in config.sys). However, once we either shell to DOS or just
run the program, upon retruning to the TC editor, etc. screen the mouse pointer
(the little box that moves as you move the mouse) is gone!

The mouse is still "there" -- you can still click on things and it does them,
and moving the mouse moves where the mouse whould be, but you just can't see
the little highliting box anymore.

Anybody know why this is or how to fix it? We've tried running the command line
of the mouse installation program, but it merely comes back with a "Sorry, already
installed" message.

Thanks to anyone who can help.
