I've inherited a project at work that uses the Zortech C++ compiler (Ver 2.0 -puke!) and a utility I had never heard of before, called: "ZIP". As the subject says, ZIP is a real-time multasking executive for MSDOS that interfaces with C, Assembler and Turbo Pascal. It provides a tasking capability similar to what you'll find in Ada. My problem is this: I've got version 1.1 which only supports MSC 4.0+ and Zortech's compiler when you use the correct compiler switches and the MSC linker, and I'd really!!! like to get this beast converted over to Turbo C++ (I hate this Zortech compiler that much). I can't seem to get there from here, so I tried calling the manufacturer (Binary Techniques at (617)628-7200). Judging from the way the phone behaves (I can't get through, it answers and then hangs up) I suspect they're out of business. The ZIP documentation sucks big time. They don't tell you enough to get your tasks set up. Their demo files don't correspond to their manuals, etc.... Has anyone worked with this before? If so, have you figured out how to get it to work with Turbo C++. The Turbo C++ compiler doesn't generate a MSC compatible object file so I can't link the ZIP lib and related obj files together.
