baumgard@uhunix1.uhcc.Hawaii.Edu (Jon Baumgardner) (03/21/91)
I had about seven replies to my last question about Ftp and Garbo. Thanks
to everyone that responded. The solution follows:
1) Once logged onto Garbo, at ftp> TYPE BINARY
2) get the file, quit and at uhunix use the kermit command
$ kermit -i -s filename
3) In REFLECTION 4.0 on the PC set the type of file to B
This procedure let me download the files in binary and the number of bytes
did NOT change.
Problem: Hard time getting on SIMTEL20.ARMY.MIL.
Solution: Wait until midnight eastern time (6 PM here).
Ftp wuarchive.wustl.edu as it is similar to SIMTEL.
Ftp mirror... (I didn't get the rest).
