[comp.os.msdos.programmer] Problem with Turbo Profiler v1.0

stevef@bony1.bony.com (Steve Faiwiszewski) (04/02/91)

I'm trying to use Turbo Profiler (the one that came with TC++ 1.0 Professional)
on a very large application. Everything seems to work fine as long as
I don't attempt to define profiling "areas" for individual source code
lines. When I do "Add Areas" for each source line of a routine or a
module, the profiler aborts the execution of the target program as
soon as execution reaches one of the source lines which was defined as
an area. TProf then displays a message saying something about an "unknown
control point" (don't have the precise phrase handy).

The manual and README files have nothing about this, but the online
help says that my program must be generating an INT 3 which TProf did
not place. As far as I can tell, my application generates no
interrupts.

Has anyone seen this problem in the past? Is this a bug in TProf, or
am I doing something wrong?

Any info would be appreciated.
                Thanks,
                        - Steve -
