I am looking for information regarding access and control standards for devices such as disk controllers, keyboards, etc. for direct accessing without BIOS support (trust me). Any reference material available on this subject? Aside from the IBM Technical Reference manuals, and the Intel data sheets on the various chips (interrupt controller, etc) there are the Phoenix series of books on BIOSes (published by Addison-Wesley).
