[comp.os.msdos.programmer] Upgrades and Borland

theall@rm105serve.sas.upenn.edu (George A. Theall) (04/21/91)

What does Borland's upgrade policy has to say about older versions
of its software? For example, suppose I purchased Quattro Pro 1.0 and
now upgrade to QPro 3.0. Can I legally give away or sell v1.0? Another
example involves owners of TC Pro 2.0 who took advantage of Borland's
offer to move up to TC++ Pro 1.0. (Borland caled this a special offer
rather than an "upgrade", right?)

I didn't find anything about this in Borland's "NO-NONSENSE LICENSE
STATEMENT" so I sent a letter to Borland's customer service department
asking for clarification. Over a month has passed with no response.
