[net.travel] Another trip to Italy

I'll be vacationing for 2 weeks in May/June or Sept/Oct in Italy:
Milan, Venice, Florence, Assisi, Rome, Naples, & would appreciate
information or tips on places to stay & eat, transport, & tours
(available from here or in Italy).

I'd especially like to know if public transportation from the
above cities to suburbs & satellite cities is good, runs often
& late?  Also, is Padua & Bologna worth seeing?
