I work here at in a lab, at the University of Washington. We have
been evaluating QvtNet 1.6, and are seriously thinking about imple-
menting it here, to replace NCSA telnet. But we have a few problems
that people here might have solutions to:
1) The FTP section gives unpredictable UAE's in standard and enhanced
mode.
2) Although we probably won't use the news reader, the NEWS section
doesn't scroll the message, unless you go to the Task Manager
escape from that, then the arrow keys, and page keys work.
3) In the list of configurations, we have some machines that we
often connect to on campus net. We also have 1 gateway, and
2 nameservers configured, with the names commented out. This
creates a problem. The last configuration listed in the Telnet
box, defaults automatically to one of the nameservers, even if
the name, and ip in the configuration have already been specified.
The only way to make it work, is reveal the name of the gateway and
nameservers. Which put them in the list in the Telnet box, which
is something we don't want.
We are running on Novell 286 not sure what version, but here are the
setups for the packet drivers:
3c523 -w 0x66 0x3 0x300 (Version 7.1.2)
Pktint (QvtNet Real mode interface)
BYUIPX (3.01 Rev. A)
Net3 (3.01 Rev. E)
The BYUIPX, is a wierd IPX to make Telnet work with the IP, on the
campus network, through novell, or something like that. Don't know
if it could cause all these problems.
Machine is IBM PS/2 model 70/386, running win 3.00a
We don't have any TSR's loaded, except network stuff. Any ideas??
