Here's the scoop: To send mail to UCF, use one of these addresses: user@ucf1vm.bitnet user@ucf1vm.cc.ucf.edu user%ucf1vm.bitnet@cunyvm.cuny.edu ..!uunet!bitnet!ucf1vm!user To subscribe to the list, send mail to LISTSERV at one of the above addresses (LISTSERV@ucf1vm.bitnet, for example). Case doesn't matter. In the mail, put the following lines: sub tcplus-l Firstname Lastname help info <eot> Here's what they mean: 'sub tcplus-l Firstname Lastname' adds your name to the subscriber list. Last I knew, this list was open for automatic subscription, so LISTSERV would add you automatically. 'help' gives you a brief summary of commands that LISTSERV understands. 'info' gives you a list of LISTSERV documentation available, if you want to learn more about LISTSERV or use some of its features. LISTSERV archives postings for the TCPLUS-L list in notebooks with the name TCPLUS-L LOGYYMM (it's possible if the list gets a lot of traffic that it's now TCPLUS-L LOGYYMMx, where x is A,B,C,D, or E). Send INDEX TCPLUS-L to LISTSERV to get a catalog of files. In ad- dition, there may be sample programs, utility libraries, etc. There's also database services built into LISTSERV, to allow you to search for specific topics. INFO DATABASE will send you a detailed description. To unsubscribe from TCPLUS-L, send mail to LISTSERV@one of the above addresses (listserv@ucf1vm.cc.ucf.edu, for example), and put 'UNSUB TCPLUS-L' in the body. UCF1VM also hosts a TURBOC-L mailing list. Subscription process is the same, except use TURBOC-L instead of TCPLUS-L. To post articles to the list, send mail to TCPLUS-L@ one of the above addresses (TCPLUS-L%ucf1vm.bitnet@cunyvm.cuny.edu, for example). Don't send subscription requests to the list, or postings to the LISTSERV. It doesn't work. You won't automatically receive a copy of your posting, but you'll receive an ACK letter that it's been distributed.
