[comp.os.msdos.programmer] Upgrade TC2.0 to C++ ???

Should I upgrade my TC 2.0 to the new C++ version? What C language
differences/improvements are there (besides the obvious C++
capability)?

I just upgraded from TC 2.0 to BC++ 2.0 using the ANSI C compiler in
BC++ (ported an existing program). I didn't notice any extensions to C,
but I really like the new IDE. On my machine (386 w/4 meg memory), the
BCX option allows the compiler to run in and use extended memory. Hence,
available space for compilation is on the order of 3 meg. The mouse-driven
multi-window environment with context-sensitive help is also nice.

I also like the "transfer" menu option, which allows me to run external
programs (like Turbo Debug or my terminal emulator) without exiting the
BC++ environment. Turbo Profiler is handy for optimizing my code.

Hope this helps.
