We are implementing a HELP system on a software using motif. Looking at the reference manual for the XmManager widget it looks as if someone (at OSF) has given at least some thought to implementing a help system, but I simply cannot work out exactly how we are meant to take advantage of the provided features - and It seems reading the current version of the Motif Style Guide, that Motif does not have any help facilities. Do you know if motif 1.1 will have any help facilities ? Have you any suggestions concerning the way to implement Help facilities with Motif ? Motif just gives you a consistent style - you still have to do the work yourself. For example, there's room for a help button on a menu bar, but you have to provide your own callback for it to implement whatever help strategy you need. Likewise for the various dialog boxes; they give you the help button in the same place every time, but you have to do something with it. -- Guy Finney It's that feeling of deja-vu UUCS inc.
