[comp.windows.x.motif] mwm and solid move

hagan@scotty.dccs.upenn.edu (John Dotts Hagan) (07/24/90)

Anyone know how to ask mwm to make all moves be solid moves? Is it possible?

I can't find it in the printed programmers manual I have - but it is clearly
a weak document.

I think you are talking about opaque moves, where an image of the
window is moved instead of a just a window outline. Mwm 1.0 does
not do opaque moves, but mwm 1.1 will have code to do opaque moves.
This code will be release as an unsupported feature, but I've been
using it for months with no problem. So, my advice is, if you want
opaque moves, get mwm 1.1 (coming soon this summer).
