[comp.windows.x.motif] Different .Xdefaults files...

| As mentioned once before, I have a sun 3/60 that has a color
| and a monochrome screen. The resources are loaded by .Xdefaults,
| but the same server is servicing both screens. And, in Motif 1.1,
| as I understand it, so is the same mwm.
|
| For the resources, I can specify a .Xdefaults-host.0 and .Xdefaults-host.1
| to get different resources for each screen, can I not? I don't know,
| I'm asking. :-)
|
| Nevertheless, doesn't the same thing sound reasonable for mwm?
| That is, can't I have a .mwm-host.screen file for each host and
| screen that I want to have specified independently? I don't know
| if this exists or not, but it seems like a reasonable request.
| Can someone set me straight on th best way to work nicely in an
| environment with a color and monochrome screen under the same server?

Mwm screen specific resources are set via the .Xdefaults file via
the following format. "foo0" (or whatever name you choose)
	define a screen specific resource.

Mwm*foo0*background:
Mwm*foo1*background:

To reference the screen specific resource when you startup mwm use a
command line similar to the following: "mwm -screens foo0 foo1" to
assign screen 0 with the resources specified with Mwm*foo0... This
is all documented in the mwm manpage. Hope this helps,
