I am considering spending some vacation time by taking a week long wilderness experience that is one of the courses offered by Outward Bound. Is there anyone out there who has taken any of the OB courses that has any recommendations or suggestions? I was thinking of going in August on a backpacking/rafting trip in Maine. Another possibility is a course involving cross country skiing in December or next January. I do not have any camping or wilderness experience to speak of. If I decide to go I imagine it would be quite an experience. I have an OB course catalog and understand that one of their goals is to have the course be a learning experience, and that plush hotels are not part of the plan. I live in New Jersey and so was considering the OB schools on the East Coast, unless I hear of cheap air rates to get me out West. Thank You.
