[comp.windows.x.motif] Closing windows popped up seperately

renu@unislc.uucp (Renuka Veeramoney) (02/12/91)

Hi

I am writing a Motif application and I am having a problem with closing
seperately popped up windows (which have been created using the call
XtAppCreateShell). If I close these windows (using the close from
Motif, i.e double click on the top left side of the window) then it
kills my main application (i.e the main program and all other windows
that have been popped up). All I want it to do is close that particular
window only. I do have an exit button in the window which when used
exits only that window, but if I use the Motif close window facility
it closes all other windows that have been popped up.

However, if I close a popped up dialog (which has been created using the
call XmCreateMessageDialog, for e.g) using the Motif close facility
it only closes the dialog and not my entire application.

Maybe I ought to use another call instead of XtAppCreateShell.
I am not aware of which one.

I would appreciate any help/information on this. Please email me
because I do not get to read this group very often.

Thank you,
Renuka Veeramoney
