Are there publically-available widgets (probably descendants of
XmText?) designed to accept numeric data? Specifically, I am
thinking of something that would accept strings from the user, parse
them according to resource-specifyable defaults (precision, type,
range?, units?...). I am getting bored of dealing with this
ad-hack.

Is it a Bad Idea to call XmMainWindowSetAreas more than one
time in a program?
I am passing it the same widgets each time (except that the
first time the menu bar is NULL). I am having fun with corrupted
memory and I am grasping at straws. I have figgered out that
calling it with different args is definitely a no-no.
Thanks for the input
