I need to extend Motif widgets. They have extension records, just as the Xt Intrinsics do. But, I can't find any documentation to suggest that OSF is going to treat their extension records the same way Xt does, i.e. always using the same first four elements (including an id) and when accessing the extension record looping through each of them (Xt allows nesting of extension records) until Xt finds "its'" extension record before accessing the extension record. I think I noticed a macro in Motif that called a function (its late, maybe that was in Xt) if the first extension record wasn't OSF's to loop through until OSF found theirs. Anyway, does anyone know anything about OSF's plans for these widget extension records? Can "Widget Smith's" use them with impunity? thanks, Scott Ables email: ables@inttech.com voice: 503-644-0111
