Keyboard traversal seems to break within our application on windows containing XmBulletin_Boards with the defaultButton resource set to TRUE so that a return key activates a pushbutton widget: the user cannot use the keyboard in these windows if he/she is using a Sun 3 as X Server. It does not matter where the client is running (Sun 3 or MIPS or SGI). The window appears to take focus and the mouse is active (one can click on pushbuttons or into text widgets to set focus) but all keyboard activity is to no effect. For example, one can click into a text widget to set focus, the focus highlight and cursor appear, but typing does not update widget contents. The only way the text widget will accept text is from a mouse paste operation. The application has lots of other similar dialog boxes that work fine - the only difference seems to be the dead ones have default buttons; Sun 3 server only! The client is Motif 1.1 and the server is X11R4 built from an MIT distribution. Can anyone point me to a likely cause/solution? Thanks for the tip on traversal; I'll give it a try.
