[comp.windows.x.motif] Turning off keyboard traversal

ajc@bbn.com (Anthony J. Courtemanche) (04/16/91)

The users of my application don't want keyboard traversal
and are confused and distracted by the automatic highligting
of currently selected items. Can all this stuff be turned
off easily?

It depends what has been set in the code already but try
the following in your [.X]defaults file.

*highlightThickness:0
and/or
*traversalOn:FALSE
and/or
*keyboardFocusPolicy:POINTER

keyboardFocusPolicy:POINTER (a shell widget resource) has the side effect
that the pointer must be in a widget for that widget to have focus.
