My company is looking into XVT for the usual virtual toolkit reasons. Before taking the plunge I wanted to get some feedback from people who may have actually used the thing. 1. What is the breadth of coverage of XVT as compared to Motif? Can anyone give us a feel towards how sophisticated an XVT application can be? 2. If XVT does not handle some nice Motif features, can we write Motif code that operates with XVT? In our case being 95% portable with some Motif specific code would not be bad. So, does XVT handle interoperability well? 3. Is XVT real? Is the product buggy? Is the documentation good? Is the support good? 4. Is XVT fast? 5. Finally, what have people done with it. Can anyone tell us of successful applications and describe the interfaces? Better yet, can anyone in the New York area give us a demo of a successful XVT application? If anyone can answer some or all of these questions, their effort would be greatly appreciated. As usual, we are under tight scheduling deadlines and I am hoping that the Motif community can help us make a good decision quickly.
