[comp.windows.x.motif] Uid files, parsing or disassembling of

santiago@fgssu1.SINet.SLB.COM (Ramon Santiago) (04/24/91)

Given an arbitrary *.uid file, does anyone know of a way to parse
such a file (I guess you can also call it disassemble) so that you can extract
information such as the name of the module, the name of each uil object and
the class of each uil object.

I would like to write a uil browser such that given a directory
containing an arbitrary number of uid files I could simply load the uid file
and fetch and manage the objects as appropriate. But how do I get the toplevel
objects without knowing their names, apriori, so that I can fetch and display
these objects. Once I have fetched this toplevel object getting its children
is trivial.

Maybe I have overlooked what the Mrm* functions can do for me.
Can someone please give me some suggestions, answers, code examples...

Thanks,

Ramon Santiago
