First I wanted to thank all of you that responded to my request for information about the coasts of England and other spots we will be staying on our honeymoon. I have not had time to respond to all the mail, but I will try to do so in the near future. Well, we are getting excited about our trip in about five weeks, but alas, AMEX lost our reservations. They managed to cash our deposit, however. Being the sports that AMEX are, they are willing to find us some hotels other than the scheduled ones. Thus, we will be apart from the rest of the tour. I guess in some sense nice for the honeymoon, but I can already see some of the problems that can occur being apart from the rest of the group. My question is what recourse do we have. Should we accept AMEX's offer? Should we demand upgraded hotels? Should we cancel and demand our money back? (This last option is undesirable, but if anyone thinks that we are being ripped off, we'll find some other trip.) What does a deposit mean? They can cancel on us but not us on them? Actually, I am beginning to figure it out. They have not cancelled merely used the option of "substituting similiar class hotels." So, we are on a small tour of two. But then where is OUR tour guide going to be? Any comments? Jack Briner decvax!mcnc!duke!jvb jvb@duke
