Hi - Let's face it. There are times when XmList just doesn't cut it. Does anybody know of or be willing to donate a robust, scrollable list widget that does any or all of the following: 1. Allows accessing of individual fields in each row with ability to set values, background, foreground, etc. 2. Provides ability to associate non-visible data on a per-row basis; For example, for storing keys to external database records, etc. 3. Provides a sorting ability by any combination of fields and allows user-specified comparison routines to be associated with eanh field. 4. Efficiently handles very very large lists. 5. Optionally able to maintain its own storage for list rows or use storage maintained client application. 6. Optionally uses an off-screen pixmap for enhanced scrolling performance. I've started to write such a thing, but don't have a lot of time to finish it. I've gotta believe that somebody developing real-world production applications has also encountered these needs. PS. I'm not knocking Motif here. It's just that XmList is still noticeably missing some important functionality. -- |~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| | Jerry Liebelson | EMAIL: jerryl@is.morgan.com | | Information Systems | uunet!is.morgan.com!jerryl | | Morgan Stanley, Inc. | VOICE: (212) 703-2409 | | 1633 Broadway 36th Floor | FAX: (212) 703-2371 | | New York, NY 10019 | | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
