The following is a condensation of the replies to my query about Busch Gardens. Thanks are extended to all who took the time to reply. James Van Ornum, AT&T Information Systems, houxu!jhv ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Busch Gardens in Virginia (The Old Country) is a beautiful family park; outstanding food for an amusement park; no city crowds; may want sun screen lotion, sun glasses, comfortable shoes; owned and operated by Anheiser Busch; discount tickets available through some organizations. Themed lands (like Disneyland) for different countries: Germany/Rhinefeld, England/Banbury Cross, Heatherdowns, Oktoberfest, France/Aquitaine, New France, and Italy/San Marco; a few rollercoasters, including the Loch Ness Monster- interlocking double loops; a few kid's rides in each land, including 'Little Balloons'- minature hot air balloons; Reynolds Aluminum theatre show is good; the Oktoberfest show is great with lots of audience participation. Brewery/hospitality house right next to park offers free tours/beer; the Clysdales are a sight!!! Suggest staying in Williamsburg and away from Virginia Beach; Colonial Williamsburg is fun to see; Williamsburg pottery- take lots of money and space to carry back anything you find that you like; outlet stores are fun to go through; camping in area is good and inexpensive (usually). CON: If I were going to that area I would go to Williamsburg, just down the road. It's alot more low key and interesting.
