[comp.windows.x.motif] Unix flavors

We are contemplating a 386 purchase on which we will run Motif and some flavor
of Unix. Are there major differences with the performance of Motif under the
different versions of Unix? Do more bugs show up under one version than another,
for instance, or is one significantly faster than another? Has anyone done any
kind of benchmarking?
