Some time back I asked what people thought about the relevence of Motif maintainence. I had a few replies. The common feeling seemed to be that for our situation (buy the sources to compile on a few different architectures) the support wasn't worth it. You've got the source if anything goes wrong, and there is a fair deal of support on the net. For people selling or supporting this for a large user base, where the cost can be amortized over a large number of systems, then the support may be a good deal. What we shall probably do is buy the source to 1.1 now, and use it. Some time after XR5 and Motif 1.2 are released and somewhat stable (say 12-18 months), we will buy the 1.2 source and perhaps go on maintainence then (depending on our experience in the mean time). Thanks for your suggestions all.
