[comp.windows.x.motif] Text widget problems

niebres@mct-1.UUCP (Caroline Niebres) (06/04/91)

	Hi All!

I am having a little problem with the text widgets.

What I want it to do is when the text receives focus the
cursor should be visible. Then after the user enters something
and hits a carriage return the cursor should disappear.

The first thing I did was in the text widget's activate callback
I set the cursorPositionVisible to false. This did make the
cursor disappear, but the next time I would go into the text
	the cursor did not reappear.

I then tried setting autoShowCursorPosition to false and
adding a focus callback that set cursorPositionVisible to true.
This did not change the above behavior. I put a print statement
it the focus callback to make sure that it is called and I
	found that it was not.

	Has anybody had this problem?

The widget tree is generally the following:

			XmMainWindow
			     |
			   XmForm
			     |
		      XmBulletinBoard
			     |
			   XmText

We are currently using INTERACTIVE UNIX v 2.2, X11R3, and
	Motif 1.0.

We are soon to be using MetroX which is X11R4 and Motif 1.1.

Is this problem fixed in Motif 1.1?

	Any help is greatly appreciated!
