Well, I certainly hope someone has seen this annoying xinit hassle: After shutting down X, usually a crash of some type, I try to start it (via xinit()) and am rewarded with a prompt saying "Waiting for X server to begin accepting connections...", and nothing happens other than the string of dots getting longer. WHAT is it waiting for? Is this something peculiar to the Interactive 386IX implementation? Naturally, there is nothing in the man pages. Thanks, carl.
