If I create a topLevelShellWidget with the XmNdeleteReponse resource set to XmUNMAP, the shell just ignores the WM_DELETE_WINDOW message, as far as I can tell. In order to get it to unmap, I had to put my own callback on the protocol message. All the manual says is that "the appropriate action is taken".
