I have heard from a couple of reliable and independent channels that Stepstone is out of bunsiness. That is, they still may exist on paper, but they no longer pay salaries, etc. I called the company and the president answered the phone. He was hopeful that they would be able to raise more funding, and assured me that business was continuing as usual, although he said that employees would be coming back under some ESOP if the funding were found (he's "40% there, with six weeks still to go"). Not wanting to rub salt into the wounds I didn't ask what happened, or where the six weeks comes from (some sort of bankruptcy law?). This makes me wonder: o - What about Stepstone's big customers? Will they bail Stepstone out? o - Or will they dump Objective-C o - Or might they fund a GNU Objective-C? The compiler exists, but the runtime and non-Mach debugging need to be written. Also, there's a free PC/Amiga version, but I think it's version 3. Curious, and hardly disinterested, g
