[misc.education] Software for physically handicapped children

ccajd@iceman.jcu.oz (Alison Davis) (09/21/90)

Could anyone tell me of existing PC (any type) software to help a physically
but not mentally handicapped primary school child do arithmetic.
The child has reasonable use of one hand so a keyboard or a mouse is not
a problem.

The school has an Apple II ? of some description, but would be willing to
acquire appropriate hardware if necessary.

What the software needs to do is allow the child to type the arithmetic on
a screen and have the answers displayed for a teacher to check.

They are a nonprofit organization that specializes in computer
adaptations for the handicapped of all kinds. They have an
impressive collection of both hardware and software for all sorts
of handicapping conditions. I have found them extremely helpful
in dealing with my son's problems.
