SEMiSLUG/Usen*x Meeting: Thursday, Mar 14, 7:30PM, at the Industrial Technology Institute in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Directions at the bottom. SEMiSLUG is the SouthEastern Michigan Sun Local USEN*X Group, a bunch of full-bore loonies who get together the second Thursday of every month. No dues, no membership requirement, no officers. Meeting notification is only by email and USENET. Bring your techie shoes, check your egos and corporate affiliation at the door. The March Meeting: o We'll open with the newly established Question Session and Welcome of New People. o We will then have by a presentation from Julius Nagy about the SkyStation. This is a high-speed floating point box that sits on your Sun SCSI line and works like an array processor. o We might have another TechnoVideo. And maybe popcorn. No, not last month's leftovers. o This will be followed by the Answer Session and the usual Rumors and Inuendo. April (and future) Meetings: On the 11th of April Ted Hanss and Mike Stolarchuk of the Institutional File System project will be in, talking about present and future directions of IFS. Other topics (and tentative dates) being worked on include a repriese and expansion of the Iterated Systems fractal stuff, transputers, network management software (April), multi-media mail (June or July), and Summer USENIX (July). Topics suggestions and contacts are always welcome. * * * Directions: ITI is at the corner of Hubbard and Huron Parkway in Ann Arbor. From the Plymouth Road exit of US-23 you go west two lights to Huron, then turn south. The first light is Hubbard. Turn left onto Hubbard. The first entrance on your left is the driveway. Plymouth Road exit is north of the 23/I-94 intersection, and south of the 23/M-14 intersection. If you come by I-94, go north on 23. If you come by M-14, go south on 23.
