[misc.forsale.computers] Wanted: Basic Atari ST startup system

mpmst1@unix.cis.pitt.edu (metlay) (06/10/90)

Hi. Sorry to hassle y'all on so many different groups, but this is
a fairly important purchase for me so I need the widest possible input.

I'm looking for an Atari ST startup system that fills certain basic
needs; I'd like to have at least 1 Meg RAM, a monochrome monitor, and
preferably two disk drives (floppies). A printer would be nice but
not necessary, as would a trackball to replace the mouse. Software
is not necessary at all; I'd be buying new MIDI applications anyway.
Candidates would be the 1040ST, Megas, STacy, or 520STFM with a
memory upgrade (no 520STs, please; I haven't the room for the extra
drive and power supply). The most critical factor is pricing; I'm not
rich, and the less I can spend, the better off I'll be.

If anyone has such a system they'd be willing to sell, in good working
order, please email me at either of the addresses below. I'd also
appreciate informed estimates of what such a system, with or without
the optional parts (2nd drive, printer, trackball) should cost on today's
market, so I know what to expect. Many thanks.
