Hullo there. I am leaving on August 16 for London, and from there to Norway. I will visit a friend in Norway, and then spend the next 4 weeks doing what I wish. Any suggestions? I went to school in Denmark, so I will stop there for a bit. I am very interested, however, in travelling through Sweden to Finland (say, Helsinki) and taking a tour to Leningrad from Helsinki. Has anyone out there in net.land traveled to Finland, especially from Norway or Denmark?? Any suggestions there? I have been told that the lake region Northeast of Helsinki is some of the prettiest country in Finland. Any comments? And about Russia: I am a single female and will be travelling by myself. I (ultimately) would like to wander through Leningrad by myself, since I abhor groups. However, I THINK that I will have to sign up with a heavily-monitored (jargon, anyone???) tour group and be *sammen* with them EFERYWHERE. Does anybody know about this??? I have driven through E. Germany...heavy stuff. Is the Russian/Finnish border like this??? (I doubt it). Thanks.
