I am looking for suggestions of interesting small hotels or pensions for short stays in the following cities: MILAN: we will be there over a weekend. The Hotel Manin has been recommended to me. Can you suggest other, somewhat more modest, places? VENICE: my guidebook rummaging turns up, as most interesting, the Flora and the Paganelli. What can you suggest here? We will be celebrating a birthday during these few days. PARIS: last time (2 years ago) I stayed in a small hotel off the Place de l'Odeon (Hotel Michelet Odeon, I believe). It was fine, nothing special. What can you suggest? I have always stayed in the 5e or 6e arrondissements, but I have an open mind... We will be using it for two nights before returning home, after a couple of weeks in Italy. Thanks. Susan Bernstein

I too have stayed at the Michelet Odeon! Its my favorite! There is another on the right bank that I use when I cant get into the Mich-Odeon -- l'Hotel des Etats Unis (spelling?) but I dont have the # in front of me... My travel agent found it in a book and they had an agent in LA for booking. Easy walk to anywhere of interest. Was on the R.Turin, I believe. -- [rchrd] = Richard Friedman Pacific-Sierra Research, 2855 Telegraph #415 Berkeley, CA 94705 (415) 540 5216 UUCP: {?,?,hplabs)!well!rchrd
