[misc.forsale.computers] The bible of computer graphics for sale

jdb@reef.cis.ufl.edu (Brian K. W. Hook) (05/13/91)

I have "Computer Graphics: Principles and Practice, 2nd Ed." by Foley, Van
Dam, Feiner, and Hughes, otherwise known as "FVD", for sale.

This book is THE bible for computer graphics @ 1174 pages chock full of
algorithms and pseudo code (Pascalish).

The book covers hardware, software, UIMs, windowing systems, graphics
hardware, event driven programs, 2d and 3d algorithms, clipping, line
drawing, circles, other graphics primitives, reflection, shading, texture
mapping, light source shading, PHIGs, hidden line removal, light and color,
solid modeling, curves and surfaces, transformations, object hierarchies,
interaction, dialogue design, animation, advanced graphics techniques, and
image manipulation and storage.

Unfortunately, the math is REAL high level and thus the book is of not much
use to me for another couple years. The math you need to know is around
Calc III/Linear Algebra. You MUST know your vectors, matrices, and in some
cases eigenvalues.

The book brand new cost 67 dollars. I am willing to sell it at highest bid
plus shipping, and am hoping to get at least 50 dollars.
