nyenhuis@dynamo.ecn.purdue.edu (John Nyenhuis) (05/16/91)
I have three HP Integral Personal Computers (IPC) and accessories
which I would like to sell. Make me an offer on what interests
you on the list below. (I am hoping to get around $2000 for the
entire lot.)
Thanks,
John N.
P.S. Is anyone interested in selling the Software Engineering ROM
and piggyback RS 232 for the IPC?

Overview: The HP IPC is a transportable UNIX box with a
512 x 255 Electro-luminescent display and
8 MHz 68000. The base unit has UNIX in ROM,
512 K RAM, and HP-IB interface. Compared to what is
now available, it is slow, but I think the IPC makes a
great portable instrument controller. (1989 was the last
year it appeared in the HP catalog.)
(A) 3 IPCs with HP-UX 5.0 ROM. Condition is quite good. They all work
like new. The keyboards are clean and there are no sticky keys.
The displays are crisp and there is no screen burn. Cosmetic
condition of the cases is near new and units pass all diagnostics.
Printers and floppy discs are all in good condition.
Each unit comes with a mouse and original OS discs.
Only a few minor defects are known:
(i) The plastic guide on the entrance to the disc drive is
missing on two of the units. This seems to be just cosmetic;
I have had no problem in getting discs in and out of the
drive.
(ii) The membrane cover of the LF and FF buttons on the printer
on one unit has a small tear. The printer works fine.
(B) Three 829191A Serial Interface boards.
(C) Two 82927A 1/2 Meg memory boards.
(D) Two 82927A memory boards which I have upgraded to 1 Meg
by soldering in sockets and adding chips. These two boards
pass the memory diagnostic test and I have had no trouble
with them.
(E) Three sets of the User's guide and Comprehensive guide. (Two
binders each.)
(F) Two sets of the Datacomm software program. (One binder each.)
(G) Two sets of HP-UX Technical Basic, version 1 (two binders each).
Also, I have 1 copy of the Basic 5 disc, which I got from
Solve and Integrate Corp. (Basic 1.0 will not work properly with
the HP-UX 5.0 ROM; additional Basic 5.0 disc sets can be bought
for around $15 from Solve and Integrate Corp. [503-754-1207])
(H) Two sets of HP-UX Tools discs version 1.0 (8 original discs
each set.)
(I) HP-UX Reference Sections 1-9 (3 binders).
(J) HP-UX Concepts and Tutorials (4 binders).
(K) Spare keyboard in excellent condition.
(L) Spare HP-UX 1.0 ROM and spare HP-UX 5.0 ROM. I believe these
work, but I have not tested them.
(M) Spare display and Think Jet printer mechanism. There are in
good cosmetic condition, and I believe that they work, but
are untested.
(N) Users library of 10 discs from Solve and Integrate. (Cost was
$150.) Included are
IPC-0001 IPC Graphics & Text-Editing Utilities
IPC-0002 IPC Demos
IPC-0003 IPC Kermit and File Translation Utilities
(Includes programs to read/write MS-DOS 720K 3.5" discs)
IPC-0004 IPC Languages (XLISP & Pilot)
IPC-0005 Basic Toolkit
IPC-0006 IPC 5.02 Upgrade Disc
IPC-0007 IPC Revision Control System
IPC-0008 Driver Writer's Disc
IPC-0009 IPC Forth
IPC-0011 IPC ICON 6.0 Programming Language
(O) Memomaker disc from Solve and Integrate. No manual, but it can
be purchased for $25.50. (I think the on line documentation
is sufficiently good that no manual is needed.)
(P) Complete C 5.0 language set from Solve and Integrate, consisting
of 6 discs and photocopied documentation.
(Q) Device IO documentation and discs from Integrate and Solve.
(R) One angled HP-IB cable for connecting IPC to an external
disc drive
(S) Two HP cloth dust covers for the IPC.
(T) One HP cloth carrying case.
