These are the games that I and my friends have spent the most time on (this is the way i measure games) (in no particular order) F-18 although it's not as flashy as falcon, it's much smoother and feels great Ports of Call i dunno why, but we played this for days, the only thing that stopped us was the mouse-only playing and the need to dock ships by hand. Populous we all played this like crazy, but playing against another human seemed lackluster compared to battling an increasingly vicious computer player Faery Tale Adventure i and a friend solved this in about a week of fervid playing. we used philip cuz he had the highest luck and we brought his Bravery to 1400! Speedball non-stop arm-twising death-to-joysticks fun SimCity a lot of fun, although there IS some randomness. ever make a megalopolis? Backlash really fun and impressive, just like Encounter on the Atari 800 Firepower is great fun especially for visiting yunguns. ShufflePuck Cafe very solid and has a great feel to it. Balance of Power mind-boggling. we always lose but we keep on playing. Empire very silly game, but once you've started you just have to teach those computer players a lesson.

Just thought I'd pass along a few of my favorites (Since I work in a store that sells Amiga software I see almost everything that comes out) Dungeon Master - Probably the best game I've ever played. Great Fun for role- playing fans. Ayone looking for a D&D type game should pick this up. Drakkhen - a close second, also an excellent role-playing game with better graphics than dungeon master, but not as good sound. Shadow of the Beast - I think this is probably the best arcade game I have ever played on the Amiga. Unfortunately I had to put my copy back on the shelf because it would only boot about 3 out of every ten times on my A1000. (worked great on the A500 up at the store though!) Empire - great strategy game, me and my friends have burned HOURS on this. The graphics aren't spectacular, but the game is very interesting. If you like RISK and games like that, you'll love it. Faery Tale - Never beat it, but I played for hours, an all time classic. Speedball - Great two player action-arcade game. Mindwalker - Neat game, I played it all the way thourgh (it's even system - friendly !) SOme other stuff I've seen recently. The Running Man - don't know if it's released in the US yet, some pirate-dude in our users group showed it to me. Cool graphics, but I couldn't get very far. (got killed after killing some hockey dude) North and South - Well done strategy game - really neat graphics X-OUT - Nice looking Horizontal-scrolling shoot-em-up. I can't get anywhere in this D*MN game though. At the end of the first level, this huge guy wipes me out. Champions of Krynn - SOme guy bought this from the store before I got to play. (luckily he is a friend of mine) I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of another copy to the store...Great game, true to D&D. John B Stelly III wakres01@pa.usl.edu

Someone mentioned they oculdn't get past the big guy at the end of the first level of X-out... hang out as close to the top of the screen to the left as you can be (just below and to the right of one of the stalactites) and blast away. you can't get hit there.

I STILL don't see what the big deal is; it looks very ordinary to me. Perhaps I missed something. >X-OUT - Nice looking Horizontal-scrolling shoot-em-up. It's been showing up on local boards (non-pirate) but no one knows whether it's shareware or PD or commercial or what. It has no docs at all; you'd not know it was named XOut if the lhwarp file wasn't named Xout.lhw... yet if it was commercial I'd think it would have more than ONE LEVEL. That's right; I have gotten past the last guy though normally I don't spend much time on games, especially ones like this, and it just pops you right back into the ship editor. Build another ship and you go out into the first screen again. For what it does, StarGlider II is one of the most impressive games graphically that I've ever seen. Sure, it's old, but most people don't even realize what's going on inside. True, realtime 3-D filled polygon solids, fast update and ALL with no help whatever from the blitter or any other custom chip. It's a shame that it's no longer made, but I hear the author did quite well by it. Also Stunt Track Racer is very very good. I just wish I had the time for it. . <<<<Infinite K>>>> -- |Ben Scott, professional goof-off and consultant at The Raster Image, Denver| |Internet bscott@nyx.cs.du.edu, FIDO 1:104/421.2 or Arvada 68K (303)424-9831| |"My brothers and sisters all hated me,'cause I was an only child!"-Weird Al| |"Do I detect the smell of burning martyr?" - Basil Fawlty | *AMIGA POWER* |

Finally you decide to get a life and throw it away. >John B Stelly III >wakres01@pa.usl.edu Here are my favorites: Zak McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders - The best graphic adventure comedy ever written. (And the best Amiga game too.) Stunt Car Racer - awesome 3d car racing game. Unique. Millenium 2-2 - solar system exploration/futuristic/plays like a book very interesting! Wayne Gretzky Hockey - best sports game. period. ---------------------- John Baker jbaker@gmuvax2.gmu.edu

Now, the question is, is anyone willing to mail a copy of the docs to me? Yes, I'd be quite willing to buy a used copy if that's what it takes. Someone gave me this disk-in-a-box a year ago and I have been unable to play it. I'd also be willing to prove I have the orginal, whatever that would take. Please don't clutter this up with the usual, "Hey, you pirate slime!", stuff because I pay for my software, except, of course, for that which is given to me. I've spent well over $2000 on software for the Amiga. I do not steal the software I use. I have tried, but can't find the real McCoy to buy. >Also Stunt Track Racer is very very good. I just wish I had the time for it. Agreed, this game is awesome. My friend has it and I tried it out.
