[comp.sys.amiga.games] WHY NO ARCADE GAMES !!!

Hi,
	I just thought I'd say that there are alot of arcade games fans where
I live and that arcade games are just as popular as strategy games in Australia.
The guy who wrote in and said he hadn't enjoyed arcade games since the ol'
days of Pac-man and such must not have tried too hard when he looked for arcade
fun on the amiga.
	For pac-man fun try Pacmania (smooth scrolling, 3D, pac-man)
	For defender try Datastorm (frantic, better than the original)
	For Pole-Position - forget it, try Stunt Car, or Buggy Boy, S Hang On

	Other arcade games that Americans should try before they start slagging
the whole genre are:
	* Rainbow Islands and Bubble Bobble.
	* Fighter Bomber
	* Battle Squadron (made by Discovery)
	* R-Type
	* Bad Company, Virus, Stormlord, IK+ and many more !!!

	In Australia, I get a chance to see both sides of the globe in
perspective (Europe and US) and it seems that all of a sudden the Americans
decided that games were just not meant to be played unless they had strategy
written on the box. Meanwhile the europeans continued to further their skill in
producing the finest arcade games while also embracing the new strategy software
from the US. Consequently it seems to me that Europe provides a far better
market for games - giving both choices instead of snobbing one for the other.
Arcade games have been one of my major leisure activities for around 9 years
now and I also love strategy games too...

	...I'm just glad that living here means I can choose between strategy
and arcade (or choose both), and I feel sorry for those in the US that must
say "Oh well, guess I'll buy a Nintendo !".

P.S. That guy was wrong about arcade licences too. Nearly every new or
successful arcade coin-op is converted to amiga format with recent egs
being:

	R-Type, Toobin, Rainbow Islands, PowerDrift, Galaxy Force,
	Operation Thunderbolt, Gauntlet II, Blasteroids, Paper Boy, and
	this is just off the top of my head. On top of that most major films
	are also licenced to an arcade game these days !

	ARCADE GAMES ARE FUN TOO YA KNOW !!!!
