I bought Elvira's Horrorsoft - A Personal Nightmare two days ago and now the nightmare seems real (and I thought it was only a game...) In case you're wondering, Personal Nightmare is a graphic-adventure game. It feels like it's really a nightmare because I feel like I've been totally screwed by the software publishers. I find that the game ranks extremely low on the playability scale... So low that it may be just too much of a bother to play at all. The problem is that disk access is far to frequent, slow, and tedious with floppies. Now, if the game were installed on a hard drive, maybe the situation would look a little brighter. Unfortunately, the instructions that came with the game explained ad nauseum the hard drive installation procedure for IBM PCs and there was ABSOLUTELY no mention of the Amiga anywhere (and so they were of ABSOLUTELY no use to me). I tried calling up BOX OFFICE INC (the game's publisher) in St-Paul but (SURPRISE!) there was no listing at all under that name. I really hate feeling like I've flushed my money away. I've tried all kinds of things to get the thing running off the hard drive, but nothing works. If anyone has any suggestions, or owns a copy and is running it off a HD, then please drop me a note. I'd greatly appreciate it. Eric Shamash
