[comp.sys.amiga.games] Xenomorph

jasonf@cetemp.Eng.Sun.COM (Jason Freund) (07/11/90)

I just bought the game yesterday. It's very hard.
Unfortunately, I think one of the manuals was missing.
When I bought it, the box had already been opened. There were
two disks labeled A and B, a glossy manual (thick, with novella, and
weapons descriptions, etc), and a small poster. There should've
also been something with codes to first aid machines and a keyboard
command card, right. I'll take it back to my dealer this evening and
see if he has another box that I can exchange it with (I doubt it, since
this is a European game and I only saw one box on the shelf).
Anyway, if I he doesn't have another copy, can I have the first
aid codes? Also, can I have a copy of your character disk? I'm getting frustrated
with the game. The little manual that I have is really dumb. 4/5 of it
is completely useless - it tells a little story, gives statistics about the
ship you're on (crew size, weight, capacity, etc.), and useless descriptions
of weapons and machinery. I still don't know how to work half the things
I've seen in the game.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason Freund

I have Xenomorph on the Atari ST (no flames please) and got it sealed.
The key guide said that the cursor arrow keys could be used for directions
(but I can't use my Insert/Clear-Home to turn as in DungeonMaster), and
P is the pause key. That was it. There was no "character disk" although
maybe there should be (but it wasn't mentioned in the reviews I read).
What is interesting is that the character you get is named Griffin, but the
back of the box shows a lady named Valeria. As for using the first aid
station, in the version I have, it's all single codes, for example
0 gives you a yellow hypo that helps thirst - it's pretty obvious once
you learn how. Of course the trick with some of these games is to learn
how, that's part of the fun. As for the manual, the weapons descriptions
are useful in identifying what you have found. The equipment
descriptions are likewise useful. Hope this helps.
