I've been playing the game for a few days now and it's great! Undoubtably the best shoot-em-up on the Amiga. The game is a perfect cross between (don't laugh) Super Mario Bros. & R-type. It's pretty easy. Most great SEU games are too hard (Blood Money, R-type) -- or you play for a while and you run up against a brick wall -- some part where you almost invariably die. Somehow Turrican doen't have any negative factors. There is no repetition (1300 screens, 13 levels, LOTS of types of enemies), it does get progressivly harder (but only very slightly harder), I've been to level 3 and so far no brick walls. There are many weapons you can find in the game. Laser, 3-5 way shots, mines, grenades, and a special gyroscope mode -- haven't really figured that one out yet. Each level has several unique challenges to it. Some are like mazes, some require jumping skill, some require timing, some require fire power, etc. Usually, you only need to die once in a tough spot to be able to figure out how to get past the second time. There are also hidden surprises everywhere which make you keep your eyes open through parts you've already mastered. Does anyone know the cheat for this game? Graphics: 10 Sound: 9 Playability: 10 Lastability: 10 Addictiveness: 10 I know that when you see a review like this with all 10s it looks pretty meaningless. But trust me, there are not many other games out there that I would give such a high rating to.
