bogie@poseidon.UUCP (Rona J. Kopp) (11/18/85)

given the following criteria (in decreasing priority) - does anybody
have any good recommendations to make for a place to go Easter-time?
1 - warm climate (70 at night, 80+ during day)
2 - total cost for 2 including travel from ny for a
		week vacation ~$1500
	3 - sandy beach
	4 - snorkeling
	5 - :1,$d

5 - gambling (this can be omitted if necessary)

Well, the first #5 is illegal and immoral in any Western country... :-)

Actually, you might look into Curacao (there's really a wiggle under the
second "c") in the Netherlands Antilles. They have been advertising and
pushing for tourism lately -- they are the main sponsors of a broadcast
service called Radio Earth, which currently buys time from shortwave
station KCBI in Dallas. Listen on 11790 kiloHertz any Sunday at 1800 GMT
(1200 Central Standard Time) to their broadcast, and you'll hear dozens
of ads for Curacao. They sponsor very reasonable group-rate tours (the
one in December from NYC is in the $425 range for a week including
airfare), so there should be some reasonably-priced trips available at
other times, too.

(In case you forget where the Netherlands Antilles are, they are just
north of Venezuela. :-)
