Ok folks, I think this qualifies as a 'RN' use of c.s.a.games (RN=real neat(tm)) I have a BIG problem that I hope someone out there can help me with. I have an ORIGINAL copy of Carrier Command that is DEAD DEAD DEAD, and I find NO way of restoring it (DiskSalv 1.42 CHOKES hard (no pun, but there is a hard error on EVERY sector/side/track of the disk) an X-copy'ed copy, that I (try) and DiskDoctor does the same 'gurk, hard error side 0, gurk, hard error side 1) and so that FAILS to fix it. What I propose is for some KIND soul to PLEASE send me a copy of their original. As proof *I* own an original I can give you interesting FACTS that if you have the original (Version 2 boxed set) like I do you will know (like keywords off of ANY page in the manual, what NEAT things come with the game, etc. etc.) So, would somebody out there OFFER to send me a disk US(nail) mail, and I will FIX my original disk, MAKE a backup of it, and PROMISE never to fall into this trap again (I was going to buy Carrier Command, but this copy would NOT load, the dealer (a friend) gave me the WHOLE thing, very nice of him, but alas I can NOT recover a darn thing, and am very frustrated with the state of recovery products for the Amiga..) (Plus I will return your DISK intact the same way I got it, and pay your postage if you wish....) Thanks loads, and I look forward to ANY replies that I get (big cross of fingers) -dcp P.S. This was his LAST copy and the game has been DISCONTINUED (I already thought of the OBVIOUS ways of getting another disk) *----///-David C.Powell--:ARPA: aegnor@bsu-cs.bsu.edu--------------------* |\\\/// :UUCP: <backbones>!{iuvax,pur-ee}!bsu-cs!aegnor | | \///\miga 1000 evolves to the /\miga 3000, the dream continues... -me | |"Humanity does seem to have beer pretty well nailed down, but computers,| *-forget it.
