Replace this line with your message My daughter will be in the Florida State University program in London for 3 1/2 months--starting January 16. She would like to be able to continue to play the cello while she is England. If we don't want to trust her cello to the tender mercies of airline baggage handlers, we would have to pay close to $500 to get round-trip seats for the cello on flights she's taking from Baltimore to London. Does anyone on the net know what it might cost to rent a cello in London for 3 1/2 months and where it might be rented? Does anyone know good places to find cello instructors near Florida State's London location (close to the Victoria and Albert Museum)? Norman Glick

What about the idea of crating the cello solidly and shipping it air freight? If she is going to be there for months, it wouldn't matter that the cello didn't accompany her on the same flight (you could even ship it in advance to where she would be staying). There probably would be some customs garbage you'd have to go through, of course. Will
