[comp.sys.amiga.games] X-Specs 3D

vrr@cbnewsj.att.com (veenu.r.rashid) (08/19/90)

Hello out there. I'm just about to purchase a pair of the x-specs 3D. I'd
like to find some technical specifications on these specs. I program graphics
extensively on the Amiga, and I have two questions about these specs:

	1) Where can I obtain technical information about the specs that
would allow me to program for them. I mean specific
details such as kind of signals, which bus and/or registers
are being affected and software codes sent to the specs.

	2) Can anyone send me a list of software which supports these specs:
games, animation packages, whatever. Somebody mentioned
Digipaint3, but I have a hard time seeing how it could.

Thanks for any info,

Please email the information to me directly. I will summarize if there's any
interest. Thanks very much.

I looked at the spex today in a store. They're pretty cute, but there
was a severe flicker (at least for me, I have a high sensitivity to it
anyway).

I want to hook them up to my PC and do some hacking.
They plug in to the joystick port. Does anyone know exactly what the port
does to the display circuit. I'd assume it just does a +5/0V square wave,
but the Amiga joystick port does a lot more than the PC joysticks or
parallel ports do.

Has anyone run a 'scope on the joystick signals and figured out exactly
it works?

Thanks,
