I purchased colony and I think the game sucks.
The controls are difficult to manage (you might
get used to them given enough time). Anytime
you come to something useful you enter a 2d point
and click mode.

IMHO, you should definitely stay away from this game.
It's also slow. It is HD installable.

If you want a good 3d game, take Infestation over
Colony any day of the year.

I haven't seen Colony, but IMHO the best "Virtual Reality" game
you can find at the moment is Damocles (aka Mercenary II) from
Novagen Software. The game is entirely in highly detailed solid 3-D. Your
play area consists of something like nine planets with twenty or so moons --
each with its own cities and buildings to explore (major planets have
more than one city.) Puzzles often require you to travel between
planets to find the appropriate objects. (the deep-space view,
by the way, is top-notch.) Although there is a time limit for
completing your main task, you can play and explore as long as
you like whether or not you "win." Each time I come back to it
I find something else new.

The only problems I have with this game are the sound (low-quality
but acceptible) and the 1:30 opening sequence which can't be
skipped... but these are minor quibbles. GET THIS GAME.

Ah yes, and if anyone else out there is playing: any hints on
getting into the Eris Currency Repository, and what keys F and
G open? And on working out the Midas puzzle? (not complete answers,
please, just hints... thanks in advance...)
